Please help
us succeed !

This is the "PRESERVE" part of your heritage ... Please don't let this opportunity to honor your Scottish and American legacy remain unexplored !

The Scottish American Center (SAC) is a non-profit organization with a fixed facility and some mobile resources.  Like all such organizations, we depend entirely upon the generosity of our donors and our volunteers to continue our mission.

We hope you will consider what we do to be worthy of your support.  If you have not visited the center, or read our website section entitled: 'Why we do this', then please do so today!  Then you will better understand the importance of our mission and how crucial your support is during the growth phase of the Scottish American Center.

Remember, we serve not only those Americans of Scottish and Scots-Irish descent, but ALL Americans who care about how and why their country developed as it did.

BECOME A DONOR:

Please realize, every donation received, large or small, is needed and very appreciated: All donations are recorded, and applied directly to the facility and resources of the Scottish American Center.  No individuals profit from your donations.  Non-profit organizations can readily accept three categories of donations: 'Monetary', 'Property' and 'In-kind' donations.  The definition of Monetary donations is rather obvious, so, lets take a closer look at the other two categories.

Property donations of tangible items can be permanent donations, long term loans, repeat loans of items intermittently required by our organization, or the short term use of an item to fill a one-time need.  We can make use of: cultural items, books, videos, photos, recorded music, genealogy research documents, office equipment and computer software.

In-kind donations are more intangible by nature.  They may be the free use of floorspace in your organization's facility or the loan of a corporate vehicle and driver for an event, a discount on the use of meal preparation facilities & a dining room for a dinner, or the use of your parking lot and water supply for a carwash fundraiser.  Providing photo-copying services, engraving services, carpet cleaning, or dry-cleaning.  In-kind donations can even combine tangible new property with your services; like silk-screening & donating tee-shirts, designing & printing bumper-stickers, a picnic site and food, beverages, paper & plastic tableware, or the materials, printing & shipping of informational leaflets.  Of course, the highest level of In-kind donation is being an event sponsor!

PLEASE CALL TODAY, (612) 721-8885, and find out how to make Monetary, Property or In-kind donations to nourish this valuable resource for the people of Minnesota and North America.

BECOME A VOLUNTEER:

The gift of your expertise and personal time is also appreciated. Without people, there is no 'organization'.  Nearly limitless opportunities are available to join our team.  We need: office staff to greet and counsel the public, people to design displays, construction folks to breathe life into the designs, those whose specialty is maintaining or revising earlier work, office and administrative help ( with or without public contact skills ), online and offline communications staff, promotions and advertising individuals, fund-raising people, financial and legal advisors, and lots more.

If you have the skills, talent, or interests, chances are we need you on our team!  Send an Email to our Volunteer Coordinator, Tom King, info@scottishamericancenter.org - please copy this address, then email Tom, or, pick up the phone and call Tom at 651-776-4316 and we'll get you connected.  Become an official "Plankholder" of the Scottish American Center today !
